Time to celebrate! The 39th annual Gopher Hill Festival is almost here! The theme this year is "Focus on the Future"....This years festival will focus more on the young people in our area, and as we all know they are our future..
The 39th annual Gopher Hill Festival will kick off Saturday, September 25 with the Gopher Hill Festival Ball at the Farmers Market. Entertainment will be provided by the Fabulous Expressions from 8pm until midnight. More information about the Gopher Hill Ball to come. www.fabulousexpressions.com
The ever popular Pink Tub Races will be held Thursday, September 30th. There will be cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners. Following the race event, a Gopher Hill Talent Show will be held in the Gazebo on Railroad Avenue.
Friday night the fun continues, with the Gopher Hill food and craft market opening at 6pm. And at 8pm, it’s time to pull out the dancing shoes as the festival bandstand comes alive for your entertainment with Paradise Bay Band. There will be a shag contest at 9pm.
The fun continues on Saturday morning with the Grand Gopher Parade at 10am. The parade will be announced LIVE from the Clock, corner of Main St. and Jacob Smart Boulevard, by the “Voice of Gopher Hill” Mr. Lowery Bumgardner. This years parade will feature many of the past Jasper County Queens as well as Miss South Carolina, Rachel Law. The parade will include float contests and decorated bicycles contest. Parade winners will be announced at 11am on the Main stage. www.misssouthcarolinausa.com

After the parade, the festival streets will be filled with arts and craft exhibitors, showing off their personal creations. There will be a variety of food vendors, rides, and all types of fun things for the entire family to do.
The Gopher Hill Classic Car Show returns, registration beginning at 9am. Saturday’s entertainment will include: karate demonstrations, dance studio performances, local talent, and Puppet People show, plus much more throughout the day, beginning at 11am. Don't forget the infamous TURTLE races at 3:30 at the Main stage. This year's event will host an array of entertainment for all, including a magic show.
Saturday night entertainment begins at 8pm with the Chris Stevers and the Marshal Dillon Band playing awesome country music.... www.chrisstevers.com
